An initiative led by Éric Vittel and a small team of French pigeon fanciers is providing an opportunity for long-distance racing enthusiasts to participate in an event open to all amateurs located at a distance equal to or greater than 700 km.
The primary goal of the organizers is to enable those typically outside the range for the Barcelona race, residing in regions where pigeon racing opportunities are limited, to compete against other colonies from the central-north and north of France.
The release date is set for Friday, July 5, 2024, coinciding with the international Barcelona race day. Lofting will commence on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
