On Saturday 26th June the traditional VCDA competition took place in Valence, the pigeons were released in a moderate westerly wind. The pigeons were released with a moderate wind from the west. The pigeons flew quickly under a cloudy veil and when they arrived at the loft, they were met with small showers.
At Christian and Dimitri Douay’s, a large part of the yearling team was starting on a cover, as this stage of Valencia is a crucial step in the preparation of the Narbonne International competition.
In terms of results, it was a great success for the tandem for a competition of 587 km when the objective is over 800 km.
Released at 6.15 am, a brother of the 1st National Marseille 2020, FR-20-93327, was the first to arrive at the loft at 2.30.07 pm, at a speed of 1186m/min. Christian’s brother finished 7th in the competition out of 1457 pigeons. His parents are pigeons ringed at Jos De Smeyter-Restiaen
